Rocío Garcés Ferrer is Assistant Professor at the Instituto de Filosofía of the Universidad
Diego Portales (Chile), and Director of the PhD Program in Philosophy at the latter
institution. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Universidad de Valencia (Spain).
Her research and publications are focused on Phenomenology and Hermeneutics. She has
carried out a Fondecyt Postdoc Research Project (2019-2022) on Heidegger and Normativity,
and she is currently leading a Fondecyt Starting Research Project (2023-2026) on Generative
Phenomenology and Hermeneutics. She has co-translated Anthony J. Steinbock’s Home and Beyond. Generative
Phenomenology After Husserl (Northwestern University Press, 1995) into Spanish, as Mundo familiar y Mundo ajeno. La fenomenología generativa tras Husserl (Ediciones Sígueme, 2022). She has been guest editor for the special issue on “Phenomenology
and Generativity” to be published in Investigaciones fenomenológicas (forthcoming). She has been a Visiting Researcher at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität
(Germany) and the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität (Germany), and a Visiting Postdoc Scholar
at the Center for Subjectivity Research (University of Copenhagen, Denmark).
